. Gresham residential program waiting lists are open to clients state-wide with preference for homeless individuals in the Multnomah County area.

The Alpha Family Treatment Center located at our Gresham Recovery Center provides long-term (3-6 months) residential treatment for up to 44 adult men and affords specialized services for men involved in the criminal justice and/or human-service systems. Outpatient groups are available to people on waiting lists.

Intake Appointments
Intake Appointments:
Patients are admitted to residential treatment Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The county is notified by the facility as beds become available.
At the assessment appointment, an intake specialist and a counselor will meet with you. A handbook will be provided that describes the treatment process.
Patients should bring sufficient clothing and hygiene items. If prescribed over-the-counter or prescription medication, admitting patients are required to bring at least a 30-day supply to the intake appointment. Patients will also receive a program handbook outlining policies and expectations and other information about the treatment experience.
Payment & Insurance
Payment & Insurance:
Most patient care is funded by local, state, and federal monies. Eligible patients may be required to apply for support from these programs upon admission. Depending upon household income, a patient may be requested to contribute to the cost of their care. All patients are notified of their financial responsibility at the time of admission.
Admission Criteria
Admission Criteria:
- Substance-use dependency or abuse is a primary problem.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Persons using intravenously, who are pregnant or who are transitioning from a higher level of care are prioritized for treatment openings.
Exclusion Criteria:
- Substance-use dependency or abuse is not a primary problem.
- Availability of more viable treatment alternatives.
- Mental health or medical symptoms preclude ability to participate in a residential setting.
- Conviction of a sex offense or registered sex offender.

The New Directions Family Treatment Center located at our Gresham Recovery Center provides long-term (6-9 months) residential treatment for up to 26 women and affords specialized services for women involved with the State of Oregon Division of Child Welfare. Women may be able to have one child reside with them during their stay, depending on space availability. Please call 503.465.9795 for more information.
