Stepping Stones provides women seeking recovery from addiction and reunification with their children from foster care the opportunity to transform their lives. Since opening in 2007, Stepping Stones has successfully reunited more than two-thirds of all participants with their children. Staff provides live-in house monitoring, mentoring, and residential supports including transportation to healthcare, treatment and community based recovery supports.
Stepping Stones is available to residents of Washington County with household income at or below 200% of the Federal poverty level and are in need of collaborative housing and treatment services to support family reunification. Residents share kitchen, bathrooms, and common areas. Monthly rent is inclusive of utilities. Referrals for Stepping Stones are coordinated through the Department of Human Services Child Welfare Division and/or County criminal justice programs.
